Self Defense Class
Learning self-defense techniques will get you moving, build your confidence and develop self-discipline. It will improve your street awareness while you work on your balance.
Classes are available for Caltech staff, professorial faculty and postdocs.
*Those who are not members of the gym will have to complete the gym waiver. All attendees will have to complete a release form from the instructor's company.
Class 1: Overcoming internal fear; Basics of Stretching, Striking & Kicking
Class 2: Basic self-defense for a variety of situations; areas of attack on the body
Class 3: Hand manipulations to subdue or get away from attackers; chokes & defensive tactics
Class 4: Putting it all together; simulated situations with attackers.
Please note this is a 30 minute class. We are offering the first slot from 12:00pm to 12:30pm and the second one from 12:30pm to 1:00pm.
Space is limited, so please do not sign up to the classes you are not sure if you are attending. We are also reserving a few spaces for walk-ins! Once the class starts we will take attendance on a first-come, first-served basis. Please be punctual to avoid forfeiting your space.
