Re: Security Report Update

I write to provide an update on today's security report.

Since our first email regarding the Grad Café post where an individual threatened violence to the campus community, members of our community have expressed concerns that there is an immediate threat of violence on campus.

Right now, there is no evidence of an immediate threat to the health or safety of our students or employees. At the same time, we are taking the situation seriously and have increased the physical presence of security on campus. We have doubled campus patrols and are regularly checking entryways to ensure that doors remain shut and buildings are accessible via key or card access only. Local and federal law enforcement agencies have been engaged. Neighboring community partners, including the local fire department, Pasadena City College, and Polytechnic School also have been advised.

In the event that we receive additional information, we will provide further updates via email.

If we believe that this incident, or any other, has become an immediate threat or that there is immediate danger to the campus community, you will be notified through the Everbridge emergency notification system and instructions will be provided there.

If you see anything concerning or have any relevant information about this threat, call Security immediately at extension 5000 from any campus phone or 626-395-5000 from any off-campus phone.
