Re: Save the Dates: Upcoming On-Campus Vaccine Clinics
As the state expands COVID-19 vaccine eligibility to all individuals age 16 or older on April 15, Caltech is planning to host additional on-campus vaccine clinics in partnership with Vons Pharmacy. Subject to Vons' ability to confirm the dose allocations, the clinics are tentatively scheduled to take place between the end of April and early June:
- First Dose Clinics: April 30 and May 7
- Second Dose Clinics: May 28 and June 4
These clinics, which will offer first and second doses of the Moderna vaccine by appointment only, are restricted to individuals who are employed by or enrolled at Caltech, including all eligible students and employees at JPL. Individuals who receive their first dose at a Caltech clinic will automatically be given the opportunity to register for a second dose at a Caltech clinic. Please note that these clinics are in addition to the second-dose clinic that will be held on campus this Friday for those who were vaccinated at the on-campus clinic on March 19.
At this time, Caltech is not able to provide vaccination appointments for community members' family members or housemates, although that may change depending on enrollment and availability.
The registration link to sign up for the first-dose clinics will be sent to all members of the Caltech community approximately one week before the scheduled clinic date. Specific instructions for accessing the clinic, including required documentation, will be included in the clinic registration invitation and appointment confirmation messages.
All members of the Caltech community are strongly encouraged to get the vaccine at their earliest point of availability. If you can access the vaccine earlier than one of our proposed clinic dates, we would encourage you to do so.
More than two-thirds of eligible members of the campus community have already reported through the Caltech COVID-19 Reporting Application that they have received at least one vaccine dose. This is an encouraging trend that we hope will continue. Vaccinations, along with continued adherence with the Institute's preventative health measures, are essential to protecting the health and wellbeing of all of our community members and your friends and families.
If you have not yet reported your vaccination status, or it has changed, please update your record in the Institute's vaccine attestation tool today. The information provided through this tool will inform the Institute's pandemic planning and response efforts, and a 100 percent response is important.
