Re: Reported Threat to Campus

This afternoon, we received a call on the Institute's primary phone line alleging a generalized bomb threat to campus.

We take all threats seriously. Caltech Security has notified the Pasadena Police Department and is increasing patrols around campus. At this time, we do not believe that there is an immediate danger to campus and normal campus operations can continue.

Caltech Security is working closely with local and federal law enforcement agencies to further investigate the matter. We will update the community as information about the investigation becomes available and notify all members of the community via the Everbridge emergency notification system should there be a change in the situation or immediate action needed.

If you see anything concerning or have any relevant information about this threat, call Security immediately at extension 5000 from any campus phone or 626-395-5000from any off-campus phone.

Please know that Caltech has mental health resources ready and available to help members of the community:
