Re: Report of the Committee on Student Admissions and Recruitment

This year's recently completed recruitment cycle has been the most diverse ever for the Institute at the undergraduate, graduate student, and faculty levels. Insight and leadership from students, tireless work of staff and faculty, and both divisional and centrally supported programmatic innovations were vital to our success in attracting exceptional scholars to Caltech.

The progress we have achieved as a community is gratifying, but it is only the first step in a concerted, long-term effort. To that end, the Committee on Student Admissions and Recruitment, chaired by Professor Tim Colonius and comprising faculty, staff, and students from across the Institute, has submitted its report. The report identifies and emphasizes the importance of best practices, and suggests a number of thoughtful interventions moving forward.

The report can be found here, on the Institute's new Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion website. The efforts of the committee will serve as impetus for our further actions together.
