IMSS will conduct network testing on Saturday, February 11 from 8:00 am to 12:00 noon. The testing is being done to evaluate solutions for protecting campus from loss of internet services due to malicious activity, specifically from Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks. Similar testing was done on December 10, 2022.
While we do not expect any network service interruption, connections may intermittently drop and need to be re-established. IMSS will monitor the network testing throughout the maintenance window and we are prepared to immediately roll back changes if necessary.
During this maintenance window, IMSS will route campus network traffic through Cloudflare's global scrubbing data centers. IMSS and other campus groups will work together to confirm all resources are reachable while traffic is routed through Cloudflare and following the return to normal routing.
