FSRI Seeks 2024 Summer Research Mentors

January 24, 2024

Are you passionate about shaping the future of STEM leaders?

We invite dedicated individuals to join us as summer research mentors for the 2024 cohort of First-Year Success Research Institute (FSRI) students!

Faculty, postdoctoral scholars, staff scientists and graduate students are all welcome to apply!

About FSRI: We create a transformative experience for incoming Caltech first-year students through a comprehensive blend of summer orientation, an enriching academic curriculum, engaging research projects, and vibrant community-building activities!

FSRI is committed to promoting STEM success and community in an inclusive, diverse and fun environment. We strive to create a space where every Caltech (first-year) student from all backgrounds and identities can feel a sense of belonging.

Your Role: As a summer research mentor, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the academic and personal growth of our students. Your mentorship will be instrumental in helping them navigate their university experience, fostering their love for research, and expanding their professional network.

Research projects will span about 5 weeks and should be tailored to undergraduates with minimal to no prior research experience. Students will present their findings at the conclusion of our summer program (September 12, 13) through Lightning Talks and Poster Sessions.

How to Apply: Submit your application

More Information: Join us for an information session on April 16 from 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm (hybrid - register)

Help us create an impactful and exciting summer for future Caltech scientists and engineers! 🚀✨
