First the Desert, Then the Stars: The Dubai Future Foundation, the Museum of the Future, and the 21st Century

November 08, 2017

Dr. Noah Raford
Chief Operating Officer and Futurist-in-Chief, Dubai Future Foundation

Tuesday, November 14
4:45 pm to 6 pm
180-101

As Futurist-in-Chief for the Dubai Future Foundation, Dr. Raford leads a team that identifies emerging opportunities, strategic partnerships, and future initiatives for the Government of Dubai.

Dr. Raford recently developed the Museum of the Future, a unique incubator for futuristic innovations and an integrated environment empowering creative minds to test, fund, and market ideas for futuristic prototypes and services. Please join us as Dr. Raford discusses the Museum of the Future and how the creative use of strategic foresight, particularly simulation games and experiential scenario planning, can help us overcome some of the psychological limitations that present barriers to innovation.

Dr. Raford completed his PhD at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, his masters at the Bartlett School of Architecture, and his undergraduate degree at Brown University. He has served as a member of the World Economic Forum (WEF) Global Agenda Council on Artificial Intelligence and Robotics; a Senior Research Fellow at the London School of Economics; a fellow at the Bartlett School of Architecture; and as a member of the International Futures Forum.
