Campus Accessibility Map Updated with New Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Information

June 11, 2020

Caltech's Design and Construction group recently updated the Campus Accessibility Map to indicate parking, access routes, and buildings with ramp entrances and elevators to help members of the Caltech community and visitors with mobility impairment. This updated map began as a collaborative effort between the Design and Construction team and Student Affairs who wanted to provide easy access around Campus for people in wheelchairs or with other mobility concerns. The online map generally plots the most direct, accessible route to entrances that have power-assisted or partially power-assisted building entry.

The map is located on the Caltech website at: /about/visit/campus-maps

Accessibility features are highlighted on the map's Accessibility Information Legend at the bottom of the map:

  • Accessible path-of-travel
  • Ramps and automatic doors
  • Power assisted building entry (37 buildings with power-assisted door openers)
  • Accessible elevators
  • Accessible gender-neutral restrooms (34 major buildings with gender-neutral restrooms)

The map is designed in consideration of those with color vision deficiency.
