Singer songwriters Dennis Witcher and Tony Recupido team up with banjo stylist extraordinaire Dan Levitt and LA's best kept secret, bassist/singer Loren Witcher, to form the exciting new Los Angeles-based group Witcher, Recupido, Levitt & Witcher. Certainly not new to the music scene, these veteran players deliver great harmonies, exciting instrumentals and some of the finest original material around.

Dennis Witcher, founder of the legendary Los Angeles based bluegrass band the Witcher Brothers, is an award winning mandolin player known for his soulful baritone vocals and his witty repartee.

Tony Recupido, also a longtime member of the Witcher Brothers, brings his signature tenor vocals and driving innovative guitar playing to the band. Tony is a highly respected Southern California musician.  He arrived in SoCal in the 1970's, playing with the acoustic rock band Savanna. Before joining the Witcher Brothers in 1996, Tony played the festival circuit with the bluegrass bands Foxfire and Liberty, where his dynamic guitar playing and singing as well as his versatile songwriting were much on display.

Dan Levitt, a Southern California banjo player and luthier, has had a long-time obsession with the banjo. Dan's latest creation as a luthier has to be seen to be believed. An ornate "fancy" banjo, that hearkens back to the "Golden Age" of decorative banjos, can be seen at www.fancybanjo.com. Dan started teaching himself to play the banjo in college where he began developing his one of a kind style he calls "Contemporary Clawhammer." His amazing melodic frailing style incorporates elements of bluegrass, ragtime, folk, classical, blues and Celtic music. In some tunes it may imitate the sounds of a lute, harp or sitar, and sometimes even a banjo. Dan's amazing style definitely brings a unique sound to the band.

Loren Witcher is the youngest member of the band but certainly no newcomer to the music scene. Growing up in a musical family, Loren learned multiple instruments at an early age, but his main interest has always been the bass. Not only a rock solid bass player, Loren's vocal renditions have wowed audiences everywhere.
