Archivist Venkat Srinivasan Visits Caltech to Deliver Talk: "The Lives of Others and the Right to Be (In)visible"

On Wednesday, October 19, Venkat Srinivasan, archivist at the NCBS in Bangalore India, will be visiting Caltech. He will give the talk "The Lives of Others and the Right to Be (In)visible" at 4:00 pm in the Beckman Institute Auditorium. You are all warmly invited to attend and please invite any other colleagues who may be interested.

Venkat Srinivasan is the archivist at the Archives at NCBS in Bangalore (a centre for the history of science in contemporary India). In addition, he currently serves on the institutional review boards for the archives at IIT Madras, ISI Kolkata, and NID. He is a member of the Encoded Archival Descriptions – Technical Subcommittee (Society of American Archivists), and on the board of the Commission on Bibliography and Documentation of the IUHPST. Prior to this, he was a research engineer at the SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory, Stanford University. In addition, he is an independent science writer, with work in The Atlantic and Scientific American online, Nautilus, Aeon, Wired, and the Caravan.
