A CIRTL Coffee Hour National Webinar (http://www.cirtl.net/events), plus live discussion hosted by Caltech's CTLO (www.teachlearn.caltech.edu) and ISP (www.international.caltech.edu)

Because of cultural differences, many international TAs make incorrect judgments about their students' behavior. Additionally, often American students are unaware of the cultural backgrounds of international TAs. This Coffee Hour will discuss how international TAs can learn to recognize and handle acceptable and unacceptable student behavious, understand what expectations students have of them as TAs, and how and to what degree TAs should meet these expectations.
