Schubert Ensemble

In its 34 years, the Schubert Ensemble has become renowned as a proponent of music for piano and strings. Yes, the Ensemble's repertoire includes Schubert, but it also includes virtually every major work for piano quartet. Among its more than 30 acclaimed CDs the Dvořák disc and the more recent of two Ensecu discs for Chandos were selected as Recording of the Month by BBC Music Magazine.
Good storytellers seek new tales to expand their repertoire; the Schubert Ensemble has expanded its repertoire by commissioning more than 80 new works. And as Fanfare USA said, "…The performances by the Schubert Ensemble are exactly what the music requires—they fizzle with energy and pep."
