When Chemistry asks Biological Questions: Total Synthesis on the Driving Seat
Nuno Maulide,
Professor,
Department of Organic Chemistry,
University of Vienna,
Synthesis has the potential to design molecules for function, particularly in a biological setting. In this presentation, we will retrace some of our group's discoveries in methods development and how they enabled us to make contributions to the total synthesis of bioactive natural products. Initial data on the use of total synthesis for probing biological function shall also be discussed.
