Characteristic measures of dynamical systems
Joshua Frisch, Department of Mathematics, Caltech,

In the study of topological dynamical systems, i.e. groups acting continuously on compact haussdorf spaces, the study and classification of invariant measures plays a critical role. However, in many cases, there are many different choices of invariant measures to choose from which naturally leads to the question is there a choice of measure which depends only on the system. In this talk, based on joint work with Omer Tamuz, I will discuss some progress we have made on this problem as well as a myriad of open problems.
