All-sky, all-frequency(ASAF) directional search for an anisotropic Stochastic Gravitational-Wave Background (SGWB)

In this talk, I will present an all-sky-all-frequency (ASAF) search for an anisotropic Stochastic Gravitational-Wave Background (SGWB) using the data from the Advanced LIGO and Advanced VIRGO GW detectors. This search is capable of finding unknown narrowband persistent GW sources being immune to SNR loss in the broadband directional searches. We use folded data and PyStoch pipeline to perform the search. This talk will present the method to assign significance to the observed results and in case of no detection setting Bayesian upper limit on the strain amplitude. Additionally, we show that using the ASAF estimators, one can derive the isotropic and directional, narrowband, and broadband estimators which can be useful for constraining the population of SGWB sources having different spectral and angular distribution properties.
