Mary Szybist,
American Poet,
Acclaimed poet Mary Szybist is the author of Incarnadine (2013), winner of the National Book Award for Poetry, and Granted (2003), which was a finalist for the 2004 National Book Critics Circle Award in Poetry. In "lucid, delicately precisely lines," Szybist explores the quandaries of faith and doubt, revelation and longing, in our contemporary age. Her work has appeared in the Denver Quarterly, Iowa Review, and Best American Poetry (2008) and has been recognized by the Rona Jaffe Foundation, the National Endowment for the Arts, and the Academy of American Poets, among other organizations. She is associate professor of English at Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Oregon.
