Come for lunch and bite-sized ideas to get you closer to your professional goals! RSVP HERE.

In this lively, rapid-fire session, you'll hear from colleagues serving a variety of roles at Caltech, each addressing one of the challenges or topics that women face on the road to research and teaching in academia: interview techniques, individual development planning, mentoring networks, professionalism, salary negotiations, email communication, and more!

By participating, you will:

  • Appreciate a range of issues and perspectives that may be important for women pursuing academic pathways.
  • Gain practical ideas to use or adapt in your own academic career process.
  • Increase your motivation and agency to plan for and go after your professional and academic goals.

After an introduction to recent statistics and trends for women in academia, speakers will share brief techniques and practices through short talks. At the end, you'll have the opportunity to ask questions and engage in discussion, with speakers and with each other.
