Hyperbolic vacua in Minkowski space
Tianli Wang, Harvard University,

I will talk about the paper https://arxiv.org/abs/2310.13663. We construct the hyperbolic vacua in Minkowski space, a family of states that are Lorentz invariant but break translation invariance. These states are generalizations of the Rindler state, and might play the special role of the CFT ground state in celestial holography. Celestial amplitudes in these states have the nice property of remaining Lorentz invariant but being non-singular (non-distributional) because translation symmetry is broken. I will talk about the construction of hyperbolic vacua and their Green function. after reviewing some relevant aspects of celestial holography. I will also discuss their relation to the de Sitter $\alpha$-vacua via hyperbolic slicing, and generalized constructions of them, which have appeared in another ongoing work.

The talk is in 469 Lauritsen.
