New perspectives on chiral matter, standard model constructions, and mirror symmetry from F-theory geometry
Washington Taylor, Massachusetts Institute of Technology,

Limited capacity in 469 Lauritsen

Recent work with Jefferson and Turner suggests that the intersection form on middle cohomology of a singular elliptic Calabi-Yau fourfold is independent of resolution.  This provides a succinct and unified approach to understanding chiral matter in 4D F-theory geometries.  This leads further to new generic constructions of the standard model in F-theory and insights into mirror symmetry on CY fourfolds.
