Gegen die Wand "Head-On" // 2004 // Directed by Fatih Akin

What do you do? All odds are apparently against you: A stranger in your own land, in your own language, in your religion, in your family. Even within yourself.  What now? Self-destruction?

Two young Turkish-Germans are forced into a marriage of convenience, which ultimately blossoms into a bond of mutual admiration. Touching. Erotically charged, darkly funny. "Vital and passionate".

Many awards in Germany (Berlin Golden Bear) and at international film festivals: five Lolas, (the German equivalent of the Academy Awards) for Best Film, Best Actor (Ünel), Best Actress (Kekilli), Best Director (Akin) and Best Cinematography (Rainer Klausmann). European Audience Award in 2004.

All interested are welcome!

NOTE FOR VISITORS: Enter South (Ramo) end of building across pond and walk up stairs – for elevators enter North end on "grass" side – Somebody will be there should doors be locked and direct you to the lecture hall.
