Der Berg // CH - 1990 // Directed by Markus Imhoof

Since 1886, there has been a high altitude weather station in the Alps. Daily measurements were telegraphed into the valley where they are transmitted all over Europe. During the long winters, the stationmasters were cut off the rest of the world. In 1921, after a tragic accident, this lonely job was to go to a married couple for the first time. Josef Manser quickly marries and he gets the job. Kreuzpointer, a former imperial and royal officer, feels Manser has cheated him out of that job. He decides to prove that the post of stationmaster should have been his. He wants to show that he is a better-suited mountaineer by being the first to ascend the mountain in winter. Once up there, in the closeness of the ice-covered station close to the sky, a struggle begins. Based on true events.

With great appreciation and a BIG THANK YOU to Director Markus Imhoof who provided us with the free screening rights for this occasion – with: Mathias Gnädinger, Susanne Lothar, Peter Simoncheck.
