May 25th LGBTQ STEMinar Update

Due to unforeseeable circumstances, we have a change in event speakers for the upcoming LGBTQ STEMinar on May 25th. We are very excited to welcome Dr.  Hung Y. Fan from the University of California, Irvine (UCI). Dr. Fan will be discussing the intersection of race, ethnicity, religion, and sexual orientation and how his identities have impacted his academic and professional career.

Dr. Fan was most recently a professor of virology and molecular biology in the School of Biological Sciences and Director of the Cancer Research Institute at UCI. Dr. Fan investigates retroviruses to understand how they replicate and cause cancer. His work has appeared in numerous publications, and he is a fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science and the American Academy of Microbiology.
