Flamenco Vivo Carlota Santana
- Public Event
Flamenco Vivo Carlota Santana is one of the nation's premier flamenco and Spanish dance companies heading into their 30th Anniversary Season. They believe that the universal spirit of flamenco, a multicultural art form, has the power to build bridges between cultures and inspire audiences from diverse backgrounds.
Founded in 1983 as Spanish Dance Arts Company, Carlota Santana and Roberto Lorca had a mission to bring flamenco to mainstream audiences. Mr. Lorca passed away in 1987, an untimely casualty of the AIDS epidemic, but Ms. Santana was determined to carry on his work. Since then Flamenco Vivo Carlota Santana has grown into one of the leading flamenco companies in the United States.
Carlota Santana will also present a school-day performance at 10:00 a.m.
