Theater Arts at Caltech (TACIT) presents Vaclav Havel's The Memorandum. Set in a late 1960s Soviet-style bureaucracy, the play follows Managing Director Josef Gross as he attempts to translate an incomprehensible memo written Ptydepe, a new language introduced by the authorities to streamline communication. In his efforts to decipher the memo, we enter into an absurdist nightmare that is a cross between Steve Carell in The Office couched in the Doublespeak of George Orwell.

The show is directed by Brian Brophy and the cast is comprised of Caltech undergraduate and graduate students, and Caltech staff.

The play will also be performed on:
Friday, November 11, 2011 - 8:30 p.m.
