Earth Week Campus Events

Did you know that Caltech grows some of its own produce on the roof of Chandler Café? The aeroponics garden towers provide fresh herbs and vegetables to reduce produce purchase and improve the facility's carbon footprint by creating a roof-to-table supply chain. The towers went up in June 2017 and their first crops include lettuce, onions, and tomatoes. Planning is underway to use condensed water from air conditioning units to supply all the water the garden requires.

Please be aware that accessing the garden requires navigating narrow stairs and uneven terrain.  Close toed shoes are required.
