Denim Day @ Hameetman Patio

Denim Day was started over 20 years ago by a local non-profit, Peace Over Violence. The campaign began after a ruling by the Italian Supreme Court where justices overturned a rape conviction citing that the victim was wearing tight jeans and therefore must have helped the person who raped her remove her jeans. The following day, members of Parliament wore jeans to show their support of the victim, proclaiming that there is never an excuse or an invitiation to rape. Therefore, on April 24, we wear jeans with a purpose - to support survivors.
