Towards simple, robust and approximately optimal auctions (part 2 of 2)

In these two talks I will describe recent developments in the design and analysis of simple and robust auctions that provably extract near optimal revenue. In the first talk I will talk about basics of optimal auction design and give several proofs of Myerson's seminal result from 1981, offering different perspectives on this classic result. Some of the proofs lead to recent generalizations. In the second talk I will talk about some recent works on prior independent and simple form auctions.
