12:00pm to 1:00pm
Add to Cal
JPL, von Karman Auditorium
Dr. David Lewin, the Neil Jacoby Professor of Management, Human Resources and Organizational Behavior, Anderson Graduate School of Management, UCLA,

Getting the job done requires people—people who are creative, diverse, and can work in a team environment. All high technology companies, JPL included, have spectacular opportunities and difficult challenges as they seek to attract and retain talent—"human capital"—in a tight labor market. Dr. David Lewin will examine sources of potential job applicants as well as how new compensation and non-monetary rewards can attract and retain high-quality people. He will also introduce the idea of "job sculpting" as an approach to retain employees.

This presentation will be interactive, with emphasis on questions and answers.

David Lewin is the Neil Jacoby Professor of Management, Human Resources and Organizational Behavior in the Anderson Graduate School of Management at UCLA. A specialist in human resource management and industrial relations, Professor Lewin has published 16 books and more than 150 articles in academic and business journals. He has also provided consulting services to more than 50 companies.

David Lewin received his PhD from UCLA in 1971. He has served on numerous boards and is the Faculty Director of the UCLA Anderson School Advanced Program in Human Resource Management and of the Strategic Leadership Institute.

This event is free. All JPL/Caltech personnel are welcome.
