JPL, von Karman Auditorium
Dan Pallotta, President and CEO, Pallotta TeamWorks; I'mPossibleDreams,

Dan Pallotta has created an organization skilled at showing how impossible dreams can become "I'mPossible Dreams." Pallotta TeamWorks is expert at creating an effective "team of teams" to accomplish what others consider impossible. We at JPL can learn from their inspiring example.

Dan Pallotta created the California AIDS Ride in 1994 in the face of skepticism, resignation, and enormous logistical challenges. Nevertheless, he succeeded in producing the most successful AIDS fundraising event program in the world. Now known as Tanqueray's American AIDSRides, these nationwide events have generated $130 million, with approximately 54% remaining with the cause. His firm also created and produces the Avon Breast Cancer 3-Days, and the Alaska AIDS Vaccine Ride.

He began his work creating altruistic adventure events as a senior

at Harvard, where he conceived and organized the very first "Ride for Life" – a 4,235-mile bicycle trip across the U.S. in 1983 that raised $70,000 for Oxfam-America, an international hunger-relief agency. Moving to California in 1985, he put his organizing skills to work for the Great Peace March Across America, and later for Hands Across America.
