The Pasadena Folk Music Society hopes to reschedule this concert. We'll update the date as soon as we can.

Susan McKeown (pronounced "mick-yone") has been called "the most strikingly original woman singer in the Celtic music vein" by The Christian Science Monitor. She has performed and recorded with Johnny Cunningham (Silly Wizard, Celtic Fiddle Festival,) John Doyle, Eileen Ivers, Natalie Merchant, Solas' Seamus Egan, and many others.

She was born in Dublin, Ireland, but came to the U.S in 1990 to study opera. She soon gravitated to other music styles, eventually settling into folk and traditional music of her Irish heritage. Rhythm Music wrote, "McKeown comes on like a force of nature: a tide of incantory verse and a voice that slays demons. . . there's a stateliness in her delivery that suggests she's in midnight communion with the long-departed spirit of Sandy Denny." Come hear this engaging vocalist as she makes her debut at Caltech!
