Caltech Moment of Silence

Caltech will observe a moment of silence on Wednesday at 12:10 p.m. to remember the lives of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile—as well as the five police officers who were killed July 7: Brent Thompson, Patrick Zamparripa, Michael Krol, Michael Smith, and Lorne Ahrens. All are latest victims of a larger systemic issue of racism and injustice in America. This moment of silence will honor those lost, their families and friends—and acknowledge the violence that persists. Silence is not enough; all are encouraged to be active and engaged in making positive changes within the Caltech community and beyond.
