Caltech Library Workshop - "Manage Your Scholarly Identity & Reputation with ORCiD"

Wednesday, November 11, 2015
7:00pm to 8:30pm
Add to Cal
The Online Research Contributor Identifier (ORCiD, pronounced like the flower) in a new global Web standard that connects authors and creators to all their contributions, including papers, grants, peer reviews, and more.  The unique ORCiD identifier ensures that authors get credit for all their work, and are not associated with works by someone with a similar name.

Participants in this session will

  • Create or look up their ORCID and see how to add it to the Caltech Authors Digital Repository
  • Compare different methods for automatically adding published works to their ORCID profile
  • Demo a scholarly reputation management tool that relies on ORCID to match contributions to impact measures (citations, Altmetrics)

This program is part of the Caltech Library's Author Academy initiative. In addition to the session offered through the Library Instruction calendar, it is available by request for any Caltech group of 8 or more.
