Caltech Associates Event: The Hunt for Planet Nine

Professor Konstantin Batygin sparked international headlines with the announcement of the existence of an as-yet-unobserved ninth planet. This discovery, conducted with research partner and famed "Pluto killer" Mike Brown, fueled a worldwide race among astronomers to locate "Planet Nine."

Though no one has yet to observe the object directly, mathematical modeling and computer simulations give strong indications that Planet Nine is real. Professor Batygin will discuss what he and Professor Brown have learned about the planet's orbit and its influence on the distant solar system.

Join Professor Batygin at Sage Hill School in Newport Beach to learn about Planet Nine and celebrate the launch of the Orange County chapter of the Caltech Associates.
