What: Gianfranco Filice is a Partner at OVO Fund, a pre-seed firm that wrote the first check into Palantir, and he specifically seeks out founders building AI safety and reliability companies, including Haize Labs and Tilde Labs. His talk will argue that economic incentives make frontier labs an unreliable source of alignment, so founders solving specific human problems will determine how safe these systems become. Raza Khan, who previously co-founded one of the early fintech lending companies and took it public on NASDAQ, now leads Outstanding, an OVO portfolio company applying program synthesis to fintech. He'll join for the second half to share how he's making these decisions as he builds his company.
