Biosafety – Comprehensive Training

1:00 – up to 5:00 PM (depending on research project)

This course, designed for individuals who are exposed to blood or other potentially infectious agents, presents information on preventing exposure to bloodborne pathogens including hepatitis B and human immunodeficiency viruses.

From 1:00 to 2:30, basic Biosafety and Blood Borne Pathogen training will be offered followed by more lab specific training including a one hour training on viral vectors and one hour training on biotoxins. Not all students will need the full complement of training. If all topics are required, the training is scheduled for 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Regardless of number of modules, the session starts at 1:00 PM for all students.
