Beginner/Intermediate International Ballroom: Tango and Samba

Description: 

This class series is an introduction to international
ballroom and latin dancing, suitable both for dancers interested in
learning ballroom and for students with no prior dance experience. The class will cover choreography and routines in Tango and Samba, as well as technique for both performance and lead-follow social dancing.

About the Instructor: 

Jay Daigle is an alumnus of the Claremont Colleges Ballroom Dance Company, the
Cambridge University Dancesport Team, and the XS Latin Formation Team. He is the Caltech Ballroom Team coach and is an active competitor in International Standard Ballroom.

Cost: 
  • Free for Caltech students (with ID) 
  • $8 per class or $30/series (4 weeks) in advance for Caltech affiliates and alumni and for students of other universities (with ID) 
  • $12 per class or $45/series (4 weeks) in advance for all others 
Prerequisites: 

No special attire, partner, or previous dance experience needed. Wear comfortable clothes and shoes that won't fall off while dancing.
