Beginner International Ballroom II Dance Class

This class series is an introduction to competitive style international ballroom and latin dancing, suitable both for dancers interested in learning ballroom and for students with no prior dance experience. We'll begin with four weeks of Foxtrot and Jive, followed by four weeks of Tango and Samba. The class will cover choreography and routines in all four dances, as well as technique for both performance and lead-follow social dancing.

About the Instructor: Jay Daigle is an alumnus of the Claremont Ballroom Dance Company, the Cambridge University Dancesport Team, and the XS Latin Formation Team.

Cost:

  • Free for Caltech students (with ID)
  • $8 per class or $60/series (8 weeks) in advance for Caltech affiliates and alumni and for students of other universities (with ID)
  • $8 per class or $60/series (8 weeks) in advance for Caltech affiliates and alumni and for students of other universities (with ID)

Prerequisites: No special attire, partner, or previous dance experience needed. Wear comfortable clothes and shoes that won't fall off while dancing.
