Members of the Caltech community are invited to gather together on March 5 in Glanville Courtyard to celebrate 100 years of research and discovery at Caltech.

In 1920, the Caltech Board of Trustees voted to change the name of Throop College of Technology to the California Institute of Technology. In the 100 years since Throop became Caltech, the Institute has evolved into a world-leading hub of research and education, led by a diverse community of scientists, engineers, students, and staff members who individually and collectively have made a transformative impact on Southern California and across the globe.

The event will begin with refreshments at 3:30 p.m. After remarks by President Thomas F. Rosenbaum and other leaders beginning at 4 p.m., event attendees are invited to visit the Caltech Archives special exhibit "Becoming Caltech" on the first floor of Beckman Institute. For this event the museum will remain open until 5:30 p.m.

This event is open to members of the Caltech community. No registration is necessary.
