Transient Science with TESS
Michael Fausnaugh, Massachusetts Institute of Technology,

The Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS) combines a very large field of view (5% of the sky) with continuous monitoring for 27 days at a time. Over 4.5 years of operations, there have been over 6000 transients reported to TNS with simultaneous coverage by TESS, including 688 supernovae. I will present new results from TESS observations of transient and extragalactic sources. In particular, I will discuss early time light curves of 300 Type Ia supernovae and our search for companion star interactions.  I will also present serendipitous observations of gamma-ray bursts in the TESS fields-of-view, a possible "repeating" tidal-disruption-event, and a search for low-level AGN activity in ~10,000 galaxy light curves. Finally, I will discuss applications of TESS data for electromagnetic follow-up of gravitational wave events.
