Universal unipotent local systems and Maurer-Cartan systems of algebraic cycles

It will be shown how studying universal unipotent local systems on
algebraic curves leads to the consideration of "Maurer-Cartan type"
systems of algebraic cycles on certain varieties. Such systems of
algebraic cycles provide explicit presentations for motivic unipotent
fundamental groups.
