Virgin Orbit – Launching the Small Satellite Revolution
William Pomerantz, Vice President, Special Projects, Virgin Orbit,

Technology advancements, new talent, and new capital have made the small satellite (<250 kg) industry one of the hottest sectors of the global aerospace community. But the world's most advanced satellites can't do anything when they are stuck here on Earth. Virgin Orbit is a privately-funded company building an air-launched platform specifically designed to provide affordable, responsive, and flexible launches for small satellites. With all major systems demonstrated, and with a full manufacturing facility already operating in low-rate production mode, the company is poised to deliver its first satellites to Low Earth Orbit this year. Will Pomerantz – Virgin Orbit's Vice President for Special Projects and employee #1 at the company – will provide an overview of the company's mission, technology, and current status.
