2016 Orientation Programs for Graduate Students; Check In

Each Option will have its own safety trainings and programs; Options Day is devoted to giving new students an opportunity to learn the specific procedures, policies, etc. of their degree options by connecting students to the faculty and staff within their option. Options are divided into 6 divisions: Biology and Biological Engineering, Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Engineering and Applied Science, Geological and Planetary Sciences, Humanities and Social Sciences, and Physics, Mathematics, and Astronomy. Please check with your individual options regarding the schedule for Options Day.

Institute Check‐in

Time: 9:00am - 4:00pm

Location: Center for Student Services, Building #87

Welcome by the Graduate Office. Check In with International Student Programs, HR, the Library, Bursar's Office, and Registrar's Office.

Complete Form I-9, and get your questions answered by the staff. Please be sure to bring the appropriate forms of identification for completing Form I-9.   Incoming students will receive an email from Human Resources with instructions for completing the form prior to enrollment.

In addition to the I-9, students can complete and/or submit the W-4 (US Citizens and permanent residents only) and the direct deposit authorization agreement form.

ESL Screening

9:00am to 5:00pm

Location: Center for Student Services, Room 255- 2nd floor CCD, Building #86

Non‐native English speaking students must meet with the ESL instructor for an informal evaluation. Please allow up to 10 minutes for the screening. Students can sign up for a time slot later in the day or feel free to wait for the next available time slot.
