Pasadena, Calif.--If you're following the presidential campaign and candidates, then you might want to visit Caltech on Tuesday, November 6. C-SPAN's Campaign 2008 Bus welcomes Pasadena residents to come aboard as part of the "Road to the White House" tour when it parks on the campus from 1:30 to 4:30 pm.
Thousands of visitors have toured the 45-foot mobile production studio since it hit the campaign trail in January to promote and enhance C-SPAN's comprehensive political coverage. The bus travels to major political events such as candidate debates and speeches in early primary states, touring state capitols and conducting educational programs for teachers and students. The Pasadena event, in partnership with Time Warner cable, is part of the bus's inaugural "Road to the White House" tour, named after C-SPAN's political program covering the 2008 presidential campaign.
"With early interest in presidential politics growing, we're excited to be on the road with the Campaign 2008 Bus," says Tamara Robinson, the C-SPAN bus representative for the West Coast leg of the tour. "As the political network of record, we're excited to offer a variety of resources for educators, students, first-time voters, and the general public as part of our extensive coverage of the 2008 presidential elections."
A revamped version of the network's award-winning School Bus, the Campaign 2008 Bus sports an election-themed exterior design along with interior modifications that include the latest television production equipment. Another feature, the C-SPAN Classroom, offers middle and high school teachers a selection of free, downloadable video clips picked from the network's political programming, including "Road to the White House," that are updated weekly and available to be incorporated into curricula covering presidential politics.
The bus will be parked at Caltech on the San Pasqual Mall, between the Chandler and Physical Plant buildings.
