PASADENA—The Caltech Jazz and Concert Bands' 18th annual Bandorama performance will take place on Saturday, May 10, at 8 p.m. in Beckman Auditorium on the Caltech campus. The concert is free and open to the public.
The concert will feature special guest artist Alf Clausen, composer of the music for The Simpsons and director of music for The Mary Tyler Moore Variety Hour. Clausen will conduct some of his compositions written for jazz bands. He has written for Buddy Rich, Ray Charles, Woody Herman and Stan Kenton.
The Caltech Concert Band will be directed by Paul Asimow, a graduate student in geology at Caltech. The 50-piece Concert Band and two 18-piece Jazz Bands are composed of students, faculty, and staff of Caltech, and employees of the Jet Propulsion Laboratory.
