A Systematic Approach to Tilted Black Hole Accretion
Chris White, Postdoctoral Researcher, KITP, UC Santa Barbara,

We expect many accreting black holes to have spins misaligned with the angular momentum of the inflowing material. However, most theoretical and computational studies, as well as observational modeling, assume alignment for simplicity. I use GRMHD simulations to systematically explore the parameter space of spin magnitude and tilt angle. The goal is to make more quantitative statements about accretion flow models and their dependence on the degree of misalignment.
