This summer, 13 exceptional high-school students from the local area have teamed up with 7 talented high school and middle school teachers to carry out research in labs at Caltech and the Oak Crest Institute of Science.

On Friday, August 2nd, they will share their findings and present their research at the 6th Annual Summer Research Connection (SRC) Seminar Day. Seminar topics include research into the center of the Earth; solvation chemistry simulations; microfluidics for medical assays; engineering of novel materials; atmospheric photochemistry; and water quality of our local Arroyo Seco Watershed.

Talks are open to the public and attendees are encouraged to brings guests. We welcome teachers and students from all grades, as well as all members of the Caltech community interested in science and science education outreach. Opportunities for involvement next year are available.

Talks begin at 3:30 p.m. in the Hameetman Auditorium. Each talk lasts 20 minutes, and guests may stay for any amount of time.

Generous funding for the SRC program has been provided by the Siemens Foundation, the Howard Hughes Medical Institute, and the National Science Foundation.
