Mental Health First Aid is an 8-hour course (typically taught in two 4-hour blocks, one week apart) that focuses on helping someone who is developing a mental health problem or experiencing a mental health crisis. The training helps you identify the signs and symptoms of common mental health concerns such as depression, anxiety, addiction, psychosis, and trauma. This class does not train you to be a therapist or intervene, but rather you will learn how to have supportive conversations and refer individuals of concern to appropriate resources.

Mental Health First Aid will be offered once during Spring term in two sessions on April 17 and April 24th. You must attend both classes on 4/17 and 4/24 to receive the MHFA certificate and manual. Classes are limited to 20 participants.
