Mental Health First Aid is an 8-hour course (typically taught in two 4-hour blocks, one week apart) that focuses on helping someone who is developing a mental health problem or experiencing a mental health crisis. The training helps you identify the signs and symptoms of common mental health concerns such as depression, anxiety, addiction, psychosis, and trauma. This class does not train you to be a therapist or intervene, but rather you will learn how to have supportive conversations and refer individuals of concern to appropriate resources.

Mental Health First Aid will be offered once during winter term. You must also have attended the previous class on March 1st to receive the MHFA certificate and manual. Classes are limited to 20 participants.
