Film Screening: "CODE: Debugging the Gender Gap"

Ever wondered why there are so few women in the computing industry, as well as in other STEM disciplines? Ever wanted to change that situation?

Join your fellow undergraduates, graduates, and postdocs in a documentary screening night with the highly acclaimed film CODE: Debugging the Gender Gap!

CODE exposes the dearth of American female and minority software engineers and explores the reasons for this gender gap. It raises the question: what would society gain from having more women and minorities code?

Featuring key policymakers, coders and educators from institutions and organizations like Pinterest, GitHub, and ETSY, the film investigates the decline in female programmers since the 1980s and talks about the resounding effects of not addressing the 'bugs' that are continuing to discourage women from entering and remaining in the industry.
